What was Shameless Shapes?
It has been a wonderful and soulful 3 years. Thank you everyone that has been part of this chapter. I’ve felt the pull to serve my community in a wildly different way, and I’m going back to school to learn diesel mechanics and heavy machinery technology. I want to work on the big machines that serve our communities, and keep them in good condition and on the road. I’m very excited about this new chapter, but it does mean that I am no longer taking new clients and will stop working with my currents clients at the end of 2024. A heartful thank you, everyone.
Finding Your Joy
Hi! I’m Sugar Shoemaker (she/her), and I believe that every body is a good body. You — yes, you — have a beach body, a running body, a whatever-you-want-to-pursue body. Despite what the dominant culture may want you to believe, we all have the right to take up space and explore different styles of movement until we find those that bring us joy.
Those of us subverting the paradigm are slowly but surely turning the tide and creating a space free from diet culture. I’m here to be your teammate and coach on your journey to find your joy through movement, with the body that you have today.
Whether you want to train for a big hike, or take a guided path through mindful movement while you reach for your toes and consider your place in the world, I want to support you and let you know that you belong here.
Joy through movement, and finding fitness — whatever that means for you—is for every body.
Shameless Shapes Believes:
Our relationship to health, healthcare, and well-being are influenced in distinct ways by factors such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, sexuality, and ability. Shameless Shapes is committed to ensuring our programs remains pertinent and accessible to a wide range of individuals.
Universal well-being is a fundamental entitlement, and it is our duty to confront the structures that obstruct individuals from experiencing a life of wellness.
Prioritizing the well-being of our community is an essential aspect of self-care, and we remain committed to nurturing it in every facet, while also acknowledging our shortcomings when they arise.
Taking a holistic approach to wellness, it is our responsibility to recognize and enhance the cultural origins of the practices and rituals we explore.
Are you ready to start your next adventure in movement?
I’d love to help you on your journey!
